GS Engineering & Construction (GS E&C), through its residential brand Xi, which is leading innovation in residential culture centered on customer experience, has once again demonstrated its design competitiveness by winning four awards at the iF Design Award 2026, following its achievement of sweeping all three major global design awards last year.

GS E&C announced that it received four Winner awards at the internationally renowned iF Design Award 2026: three in the Product Design (Lighting) category for lighting designs, and one in the Residential Interior category for “Club Xian,” a community facility at Maple Xi.

The three award-winning lighting designs—Glowveil, a hidden lighting system; Tode, a ceiling-mounted light with integrated speaker; and Sequence, a downlight—were selected for their balanced integration of design, functionality, and sustainability.

Glowveil is a hidden lighting system embedded within recessed ceiling coves, creating a refined interior atmosphere. In addition to its primary lighting function, it incorporates smart scenario control based on human circadian rhythms, adjusting color temperature and brightness according to time of day to support residents’ psychological stability and a healthy lifestyle. This Human Centric Lighting (HCL) solution was developed in collaboration with lighting specialist ALTO.

Tode is a ceiling-mounted luminaire that integrates lighting and a speaker into a single unit, developed in consideration of the structural constraints typical of apartment ceilings in Korea. It minimizes plastic usage to enhance sustainability and allows directional adjustment for precise lighting control.

Sequence is a transformable downlight that adapts its form and lighting function according to time and activity. In the morning, it remains concealed within the ceiling and provides focused direct lighting to support concentration, while in the evening, it gently extends outward to deliver 360-degree indirect lighting, enveloping the space in a relaxing ambiance.

In the Residential Interior category, “Club Xian” at Maple Xi was recognized for its harmonious spatial design that separates private areas from communal spaces while encouraging intergenerational interaction, presenting a new direction for advanced residential communities.

A GS E&C official stated, “This recognition at the iF Design Award underscores the value of Xi as a brand that designs customer experiences. We will continue to invest in enhancing our technological and design capabilities to deliver differentiated customer experiences.”
